Elkhart County SWAT response leads to body found in Elkhart County

ABC57 UPDATE 9:53 PM: Shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Elkhart County SWAT was deployed to a home in the 28000 block of Golden Pond Trail to assist the Elkhart County Homicide Unit in locating a potential suspect connected to a shooting earlier Monday afternoon in the 2500 block of Links Drive in Elkhart.
A fire was reported at the Golden Pond Trail resident. After the fire was extinguished by local fire departments, officers located a body inside the home. The individual has not yet been officially identified.
Elkhart Police Department tells ABC57 News, at this time, there is not an ongoing threat to the public.
